Great Coffee!

I was watching my son Lachlan play soccer on the week-end as all parents do. It was a sunny, clear winter morning and  his team was playing at Ipswich Grammar School. There would have been at least 40-50 parents in and around the 10 or so playing fields, kids running everywhere and the smell of mud and grass was in the air. I love this time of year watching kids winter sports.

I noticed a mobile coffee van parked near by. The owner however was sitting on a deck chair reading the paper, waiting for the occasional customer to stroll up to him. I couldn't believe it! If customers don't come to you, then you go to them. The week before I was at the BGS playing fields and witness a clever coffee operator at work. Whilst the husband ground coffee, frothed the milk and did the orders his wife went round all the playing fields with a note book and took orders from each person, then delivered the coffee to them. Wow! That's customer service.

What are you doing in your business today that is proactive not reactive for your customers? Don't sit waiting for the phone to ring, get up and get out there. If you don't then someone else will.
